Research Interests

Biometrics, growth and yield modeling, quantitative silviculture...i.e. quantifying the effects of differing management regimes and silviculture treatments on tree- and stand-level parameters

I am currently working on analysis and project management for several projects across the spectrum of forestry: understanding the effects of buckthorn density on soyben aphid density; assessing the severity of Eastern Spruce Dwarf Mistletoe and the effectiveness of logging and forester prescriptions to reduce its presence; a ponderosa pine dendrochronology/seed source study to assess the success of various seed sources in Minnesota and how they respond to climate differently than in their native range.

When I'm not in the woods, I'm...

Running, nordic skiing, playing or listening to music
