Research Interests

Broadly, I am interested in applied forest ecology and geospatial science. My research focuses on answering questions and solving problems relating to the ecology and management of invasive species, threatened species, and ecosystem restoration. I approach these questions from the bottom-up via site-level research, as well as top-down in the form of landscape ecology and remote sensing.

I am currently working on a project which involves modeling the current and potential future distributions of invasive plants across Minnesota. As part of this project, I am assessing the potential impact of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change as well as land-use change on the potential future distributions of invasive plants across Minnesota.

When I'm not in the woods, I...

In my free time I enjoy reading, watching sports, hiking, and playing obscure board games.
